I haven't been in Covent Garden before. That was a new district for us what we wanted to explore a bit more. So after we finished at the Hungarian Embassy (I had to report that my ID has been stolen), we could go to explore the area.
What should we know about Covent Garden?
Covent Garden is a district of Westminster. It is located north-east from Trafalgar Square and this is one of the oldest area of London. Lot's of people associate it with the formal fruit and vegetable market in the central square. Nowdays the market and its environment are a popular shopping and tourist site. If you have a look around, you can see beautiful shops everywhere. It is unbelievable that every time when I spend few hours somewhere I can't say that 'Yes, I fully discovered it.' I always have a lack. The same happened with Covent Garden too because I miss that I couldn't wonder around on the smaller streets in the residential area.
Korábban még nem jártam Covent Garden-ben. Egy új helyszín volt számunkra Londonban, amit szerettünk volna egy kicsit felfedezni. Szóval miután végeztünk a Magyar Nagykövetségen (még nyáron ellopták a személyimet és be kellett jelentenem), készek voltunk rá, hogy megismerjük egy kicsit jobban ezt a városrészt is!
Mit kell tudni Covent Garden-ről?
Covent Garden egy városrész Westminsteren belül, és észak, észak-keletre fekszik a Trafalgar tértől. Az egyik legrégebbi kerülete Londonnak. Nagyon sokaknak a korábbi gyümölcs és zöldség piac jut egyből az eszébe a központjában. Manapság a piac és a környezete már inkább népszerű bevásárló központ és turisztikai látványosság. Valóban, ha körbenéztek a téren, elegáns boltok csalogató kirakatai hívogatnak, amerre a szám ellát. :) Amúgy hihetetlen, hogy minden alkalommal, amikor pár órát eltöltök egy új helyen, nem tudom azt mondani, hogy: "Igen, teljesen felfedeztem magamnak." Mindig marad bennem egy hiányérzet. Most is így történt, mert sajnálom, hogy nem tudtunk több időt tölteni a lakóházak környékén, távolabb a turistáktól.
What did we see in Covent Garden?
1. Firstly we walked through the Leicester Square and we amazed the well presented and built buildings there. There you can find a lot of entertainment and the restaurants are next to each other to fight for the future guests. We had a quick lunch here too.
2. Our next stop was the London Film Museum and the Bond in Motion exhibition. I'm a huge fan of the James Bond movies and this exhibition was on my list for a very long time! It is a vehicle exhibition and it is not too big but I really enjoyed it! If you like the Bond movies then you have to see it! :) The link is here.
3. The Covent Garden. The market is covered and there are plenty of different type of stores and market stalls in the middle. I saw hand made products but unfortunately I didn't have the chance to check them properly. ;) I wish I could be in the market a little bit longer and enjoy the atmosphere! Mit láttunk Covent Garden-ben?
1. Először a Leicester téren sétáltunk körbe és gyönyörködtünk az épületekben. Egymást érik a szórakozóhelyek, éttermek és bárok, versengve egymással a vendégekért. Mi is itt fogyasztottuk el a gyors ebédünket.
2. A második állomásunk a Londoni Film Múzeum volt, ahol a Bond in Motion kiállítást néztük meg. Nagy rajongója vagyok a James Bond filmeknek és ez a kiállítás már régóta szerepelt a kívánság listámon! Gyakorlatilag egy jármű kiállítás, az összes filmben megjelenő autót, légi és vízi járművet mutatja be. Nem túl nagy, de részletes a kiállítás, és én nagyon élveztem! Ha ti is szeretitek a Bond filmeket, nektek is látnotok kell, ha Londonban jártok! Bővebb információt a weboldalukon találtok.
3. Covent Garden. A piac fedett, és jól átlátható: a széleken különböző, bevásárlóutcákon megszokott boltokat, középen pedig kézműves piaci árusokat találtok. Szép kézzel készített termékeket láttam távolról, de sajnos nem volt több időm alaposabban szemügyre venni a kínálatot. Jó lett volna, ha tudunk egy kicsit hosszabban maradni a piacon és élvezhettük volna a hangulatát! Ha kíváncsiak vagytok az elérhető boltokra, nyitva tartásra, látogassatok el a weboldalukra.

La Bottega Eccleston (SW1W 9NP)
This is a cute italian cafe and food store. The design is simple and the room is full with light of day. Seats and tables are available in front of the shop too but we got a table inside. We ordered two flat whites and the service was kind and quick. The coffees were delicious and we got enough energy for the rest of the day. :) Definitely I would like to go back!
The Moon Under Water (WC2H 7LE)
If you live in England, probably I don't have to intruduce The Wetherspoon restaurants and pubs. If you don't live here then this is an english pub chain and it has hotel, food and drink services. It's a bargain to have a meal here and we have had only good experiences with the quality of the food. The beer and the ale supply are huge and our favourite drink is the Shipyard Ale at the moment. :) I can recommend for you my lovelies too if you visit England first time! You have got the opportunity to try something traditional meal in the Wetherspoon restaurants. You can check their website here.

Hol fogyasztottunk?
La Bottega Eccleston (SW1W 9NP)
Ez egy kicsi és aranyos olasz kávézó és élelmiszerbolt. Egyszerű designnal, olaszos hangulattal és sok-sok természetes fénnyel. Amikor megérkeztünk, az összes asztal foglalt volt a teraszon, így bent ültünk le. Két flat white-ot rendeltünk, a kiszolgáló személyzet kedves volt és gyorsan dolgoztak. A kávé nagyon finom volt, elegendő energiát nyertünk a nap hátralévő részére. :) Ha Londonban járok a jövőben, mindenképpen szeretnék még visszamenni!

Ha Angliában éltek, valószínűleg nem kell bemutatnom a The Wetherspoon nevű étterem/kocsma láncot. Ha nem itt laktok, akkor annyit kell tudni róla, hogy egy angol étterem lánc, akik szállodaként, étteremként és kocsmaként működnek. Itteni viszonylatban olcsón meg lehet ebédelni náluk, és nekünk egyelőre csak jó tapasztalatunk van az ételeik minőségével. A sör és ale választéka hihetetlenül széles, a mi kedvencünk jelenleg a Shipyard Ale. Csak ajánlani tudom nektek is, ha látogatóban vagytok Angliában és ki szeretnétek próbálni az angol konyhát! Itt tudjátok megnézni hogy hol vannak éttermeik szerte az országban.
