Corfu Town, Greece
This was one of the best destination what we visited during our holiday! The sad part of it that we spent only a couple of hours on the island but the time was memorable! I mean really. We almost missed our cruise! Now it sounds funny but when we were sitting on the Hop on-Hop off bus and the driver took a coffee break for fifteen minutes... Believe me, it wasn't. Luckily, at the end we catched our ship and we could continue our journey to Kotor.
Firstly in this post I would like to share with you more details about our visit in Corfu Town. Originally our plan was to rent a bike or a moped and explore the island more. I really wanted to find a nice beach and I read a lot of recommendations on the Tripadvisor website earlier. But we had to realise that we don't have enough spare hours to do that... Therefore we have one more reason to visit Corfu again and spend a whole week on the beautiful island!
Corfu volt az egyik legszebb desztináció, amit meglátogattunk a nyaralásunk alatt! Sajnos itt is csak pár órát töltöttünk, de az mindenképpen emlékezetes maradt! Nem fogjátok elhinni, de majdnem lekéstük a hajónk indulását! Most már viccesen hangzik, de amikor a városnéző buszon ültünk és a sofőr kávészünetet tartott 15 percig, nem így gondoltuk. Szerencsére végül elértük a hajót, és folytathattuk az utunkat Kotorba.
Először is ebben a posztban szeretnék több részletet megosztani a városlátogatásunkról. Eredetileg azt terveztük, hogy biciklit vagy robogót bérelünk és bejárjuk vele a szigetet. Nagyon szerettem volna találni egy szép strandot, és utána is olvastam Tripadvisor-on, hogy melyiket ajánlják. Sajnos be kellett látnunk, hogy erre nincs elég időnk, ezért csak Corfu városban néztünk körbe. Úgyhogy ezek után van még egy okunk, hogy visszamenjünk és több időt töltsünk ezen a gyönyörű szigeten!
We arrived in the morning hours so after the breakfast we got off the ship. For me it was very exciting to see that we had to go through the border and the gates like in the airports too. :)
After that we decided to take a Hop on-Hop off bus service. I find this service very useful and helpful, especially if the arrival is a little bit more far from the central or the town is bigger and the places of interest are in different parts of the city. In the past we have already chosen this service few times and we were always happy with it! You can listen interesting facts about the town and you don't have to worry about the public transport. There is a time limit when you can use the services but meanwhile you have the right to get off and get on so many times as you want.
A reggeli órákban érkeztünk Corfura, így reggeli után szálltunk le a hajóról. Nagyon érdekes volt, hogy itt is át kellett menni a "határon", mint a repülőtereken a kapukon. Logikus, mert nemzetközi vizekről érkeztünk, csak én nem gondoltam ebbe bele! :) Miután kiértünk az épületből, felültünk egy városnéző buszra. Biztos ti is ismeritek a Hop on-Hop off buszokat, ahol néha idegenvezetők osztanak meg érdekességeket a városról vagy fülhallgatón keresztül ismerkedhetsz meg a legérdekesebb látnivalókkal. Személy szerint én kedvelem ezt a fajta városnézést és nagyon hasznosnak találom, ha a város nagyobb kiterjedésű. A múltban már többször választottuk ezt a szolgáltatást, és minden alkalommal elégedettek voltunk. Amikor megvásároljátok a jegyet rá, van egy idő intervallum, amikor használhatjátok korlátlanul. Annyiszor szálltok fel és le, amennyiszer szeretnétek.
Finally we managed to be in the central of Corfu Town but the way getting there was nice too! Just travelling around on the coast and enjoying the fresh see breeze! We got off the bus at the Old Fortress of Corfu Town. From there our way led us into the tiny streets which were full of souvenir shops, cloths shops, leather shops, etc... Amazing ceramic products, beautiful leather bags and sandals, lots of things to look, see and buy! :) We spent quite a long time to wonder around in the narrow streets and meanwhile we had a nice lunch with a pint of Mythos. Of course, what else? :) Delicious food, nice service, definitely we had a great experience.
Végre beértünk Corfu központjába, de már az odafelé vezető út is nagyon szép volt! Végig a parton haladt a busz, gyönyörködtünk a látképben és sós tengerillatot hozott a szél. A régi erődnél szálltunk le a buszról, onnan pedig a belváros kis utcáihoz sétáltunk, ahol egymást követték a szuvenír boltok, ruhaboltok, stb... Lélegzetelállító kerámia edények, igényesen megmunkált bor táskák és szandálok, rengeteg látnivaló, amik mind vásárlásra csábítanak! Viszonylag hosszú időt töltöttünk a keskeny kis utcákban bolyongva és közben meg is ebédeltünk. Természetesen gyros tálat választottunk, és kisérőnek Mythost. Mi mást? :) Finom étel, jó kiszolgálás, jó élménnyel távoztunk.
After lunch we have decided to find a beach to sunbathing and swimming on the rest of the day. We went back to the south part of the city and we had a great frappe in the Royal Boutique Café. The café has amazing view because it is located on the top of one hill next to the Corfu Airport so from the terrace you can check out the landing planes. Absolutely breathtaking! After that we walked down to the coast and we visited the lovely Vlacherna Monastery surrounded by water. It's so small but beautiful! Worth a visit if you are in Corfu Town! :)
Finally we found our beach for one hour and enjoyed the summer weather. As I mentioned at the beginning, we had to run back to the cruise because we didn't expect that the driver takes a short break... But at the end we were in our cabin, had a drink and the ship continued its journey to Kotor with us.

Ebéd után úgy döntöttünk, hogy elég volt a városnézésből, és inkább strandolni szeretnénk a hátralévő órákban. Visszamentünk a város déli részére, ahol beültünk a Royal Boutique Café-ba és elfogyasztottunk egy görög frappét. A kávézónak szenzációs a kilátása, mivel egyből a repülőtér mellett van, egy domb tetején. Szóval a teraszukról lehet nézni a repülőgépeket, ahogy fel és leszállnak. Egyszerűen zseniális! Miután felfrissültünk a jegeskávétól, lesétáltunk a Vlacherna monostorhoz, ami egy kis félszigeten helyezkedik el. Apró kis épület, de gyönyörű. Mindenképpen menjetek el, és nézzétek meg, ha Corfun nyaraltok! :)
Végezetül csak találtunk egy kis strandot, ahol napoztunk egy órácskát és fürödtünk egyet. Ahogy pedig a bevezetőben említettem, a végén futnunk kellett a hajóhoz, mert nem számoltunk azzal, hogy a sofőr kávészünetet fog tartani... Szerencsére még éppen időben értünk vissza, és megnyugtatásképp rendeltünk egy-egy koktélt magunknak, a hajó pedig folytatta az útját Kotor felé.
